Planning a sliding door: wall or ceiling mounting?

A sliding door can separate rooms without swinging into the room. For the selection, the door opening, mounting surface and lateral clearance must be compatible.
Check space beside the opening
A door that runs in front of the wall needs lateral free space to slide open. Take into account light switches, sockets, radiators and skirting boards. For two door leaves, the space requirement depends on which direction the leaves move.
Differentiate between wall mounting and ceiling mounting
With wall mounting, the track is fixed to the wall above the opening. With ceiling mounting, the fixing is on the ceiling. Whether the respective surface is suitable depends on its construction and the chosen fixing. Have uncertain substrates professionally assessed. Do not use blanket fixing recommendations for different wall and ceiling types.
Measure the opening carefully
Measure the width and height of the clear opening at several points. The required door panel dimension can differ due to overlaps and the guidance system. Follow the dimensional information and notes of the selected model.
Check before ordering
Check the number of door leaves, mounting type, dimensions and color in the configuration. Also check whether the door provides the intended passage when open. If you are unsure about the mounting surface or the dimensions, clarify these points with our customer service before ordering.
